Programme leads are responsible for the implementation of face-to-face courses within the Event Management and National Administrators’ pathways as part of BWF’s initiatives to help build the capacity of its members.
BWF and the World Academy of Sport (WAoS) recently teamed up to deliver an innovative activity in Dubai, UAE aimed at strengthening these pathways by providing training for personnel, in addition to making necessary updates to these key programmes.
The Programme Leads Training was held over five days with the participation of 16 candidates from five Continental Confederations.
The activity brought together new programme leads and those who have been delivering with their Continental Confederations over the last few years.
WAoS and BWF experts shared educational approaches to ensure programme leads have the necessary tools to plan and deliver impactful courses within their regions. At the same time, current and future programme leads had the chance to offer feedback based on their experience and knowledge of regional contexts. This provided the basis for in-depth discussion and sharing.
These dynamic sessions allowed programme leads and candidates to share their experiences, concerns and perspectives to further strengthen the programme.
Programme leads are now expected to deliver sessions in their respective pathways in the coming months as part of regional development programmes.
