WHAT IS EQUIVALENCY?

In the interest of promoting easier access to opportunities in both education and employment, BWF Coach Education equivalency offers Member Associations the possibility to apply for recognition for their national-level coach education certifications.

Upon a successful application process by the Member Association, their national credentials may be deemed equivalent to a BWF Coach Education Level 1 or Level 2 certification.  This has several advantages for the coaches who hold those credentials, as they:

• can use BWF Coach Education Level 1 or Level 2 as international standards for employment or further coach education abroad
• will be eligible for related BWF Coach Education opportunities, such as continuing on to BWF Level 2 or Level 3, or achieving certification as a BWF Disability Coach (Level 1)

Please note a couple of key points regarding the equivalency process:

• The application process cannot be undertaken by individual coaches – only by Member Associations. (Those coaches who would like their national credentials to be recognised by BWF should encourage their Member Association to complete the application process.)
• Coaches with equivalent status will not be issued a BWF certification. Those countries with equivalent certifications are listed on the dropdown below, along with the respective equivalent status.
