The BWF Sport Science Research Grants programme provides the opportunity for research institutions and individual researchers to apply for research grants to assist in the funding of applied sport science research in badminton.
Since its inception in 2013, the BWF has supported more than 70 badminton research project globally across the different areas such as biomechanics, physiology, sport psychology, performance analysis, sport injuries/injury prevention, sports engineering and technology, sport sociology and youth development.
The BWF Development & Sport for All Committee has budgeted US$ 95,000 for the BWF Sport Science Research Grant 2021/2022. In this year’s funding, BWF are particular interest in research connected to:
- Badminton for physical activity and well-being
- Inclusive badminton (people with disabilities/gender inclusivity/underprivileged and vulnerable communities/older adults)
- Injury prevention (BWF Consensus Project developed – pending reivew)
